There are approximately 15 million widows just in the United States (U.S.) alone. Many are lonely and need companions outside of their close friends, family, and loved ones.
Each year the number of widows in the U.S. increases by roughly 700,000
Most widows are also aging and need the hope and reassurance of being comforted by having Jesus in their lives.
Many widows need help with upkeep and maintenance on their homes and yards with just basic needs.
Homeless
Having been born and raised in the Carolinas, when we relocated through a company move to Central Florida in 2011 the homeless population caught our attention and touched our hearts. As blessed as we have been through opportunities that we have had to help the homeless in our local communities with company sponsored events, the Lord has put it on our hearts to do even more. Our hope is that with what the Lord has led us to by the efforts and founding of Focus on the Cross ministry that we can have a bigger impact…not only just helping the homeless in Florida but also abroad.
Orphans
In these current times there are approximately 400,000 orphans, and this is just in the United States alone. Statistically only half of the orphans will be reunited with their biological families.
For the roughly 25,000 orphans that age out of the system each year the following statistics are present:
25% of the orphan population will attempt suicide 40% will be homeless in the first 1-2 years 70% of the females will be pregnant and unmarried by 21 years of age 80% of the males will be incarcerated
Mission Bithlo United is the bridge between our less fortunate brothers and sisters in our community. Their focus is to share food, clothing, basic necessities and more importantly, the love of Jesus.
